1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information you disclose to us
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.
Sensitive Information. We do not process sensitive personal information. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.
Information automatically collected
We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as:
- IP address
- Browser and device characteristics
- Operating system
- Language preferences
- Referring URLs
- Device name
- Country and location
- Information about how and when you use our Services
This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar technologies.
Information you create through the Services
When you use LiveTale, the Services store content you create or configure, including:
- Characters you create (including names, descriptions, attributes, and uploaded or generated portraits)
- Adventures and the scenes within them, including narration text, dialog, and generated scene images
- Adventure journals and scene summaries
- Player Safety preferences (your Lines & Veils list)
- Your Page balance and a record of Page bundles you have purchased
This content is associated with your account and is used to provide the Services, generate new story content on your behalf, and enable you to resume play across sessions.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law. We may also process your information for other purposes with your consent.
3. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We may share your information in the following situations:
- AI service providers. To generate narration, scene images, and other story content, we send relevant in-game text and context (such as your character details, scene history, and your typed actions) to third-party AI providers, currently including Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google. These providers process the data on our behalf to return generated content. We do not send your name, email address, or other directly identifying account information to these providers.
- Payment processor. Page bundle purchases are handled by Stripe, Inc. When you make a purchase, payment information (such as card details) is collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy. We do not store full card numbers on our systems.
- Cloud and hosting providers. We use Google Cloud and similar infrastructure providers to host the Services and store account data, generated images, and other content.
- Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose your information where required to do so by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, the safety of users, or to investigate fraud or abuse.
4. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to gather information when you interact with our Services. These technologies help us:
- Maintain security
- Prevent crashes
- Fix bugs
- Save preferences
- Assist with basic site functions

5. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?
Our Services use Google Sign-In as the sole authentication method. When you sign in with Google, we receive the following information from your Google account:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your Google profile picture
- A unique Google account identifier
- Whether your email address has been verified by Google
We use this information to create and authenticate your account on the Services and for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice. We do not control, and are not responsible for, how Google uses your personal information. We recommend reviewing Google's privacy policy.
6. IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?
Our servers are located in California, USA. Your information may be transferred to and processed in other countries. If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, these countries may not have equivalent data protection laws. However, we will take necessary measures to protect your personal information.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We will keep your account information — including your characters, adventures, scene histories, journal entries, and generated images — for as long as you maintain an account with us. Your data is not deleted simply because your Page balance reaches zero or because you stop making purchases. See our Terms of Service, Section 5 (Pages and Purchases), for details on how Pages work.
When you delete your account, or when we terminate your account in accordance with our Terms of Service, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it to:
- comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations,
- resolve disputes or enforce our agreements,
- protect against fraud or abuse, or
- preserve aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you.
Backups containing your information may persist for a limited period after deletion before being overwritten in the normal course of operations.
8. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age. If we learn that personal information from users under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate the account and delete such data.
9. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
Withdrawing your consent
If we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. This will not affect processing already carried out before withdrawal.

If you would like to review or change your account information or terminate your account:

- Upon request, we will deactivate or delete your account
We may retain some information for legal or operational purposes.
10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Most web browsers include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. Currently, no uniform technology standard exists, so we do not respond to DNT signals.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Revised" date.
